Packing Up and Shipping Out
23 June, 2016We’ve reached the end of our prep week and tomorrow we’ll be departing for Scotland. Twelve of us have spent the past week painting, packing, and filling out paperwork making sure that everything is ready before we leave.
I spent most of my week compiling a list of every item that we packed for shipment, describing them, weighing them, and listing their values. It was a very tedious process, but it was important that we finished it by Monday to make the shipping process as smooth as possible.
On Saturday I took a break from working on the list to help Brit Rivera paint the floor cloth. It was nice to get out from behind a computer screen for a little bit. Brit and I put on some rubber gloves and painted the entire thing by hand. We dribbled paint onto the cloth and crawled around spreading out the paint; it was a lot of fun.
I really enjoyed spending these last few days working with such a wonderful group of people. I know their enthusiasm and dedication is going to make this process something truly incredible. I look forward to the many challenges we’ll face together in the weeks to come. Thank you to everyone for all your hard work this week, and a special thank you to Barry who made shipping such a breeze!
